My name is Joan Tebandeke. I am a Mental Health Practitioner at LeVan Counseling and Consulting Services. I received my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Currently, I am in my third year of doctoral program in psychology at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, including individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. I have over 5 years of experience in the social service field. I have worked in different settings including residential treatment with children, adolescents, and families, school-based therapy, and outpatient therapy with children, adolescents, and adults. Areas of my specialization include depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment issues, autism, and adolescents with significant behavioral issues. My approach to therapy is from multicultural feminist and cognitive behavioral therapy models. I believe in empowerment, change, and emotional healing that promotes living a more balanced and fulfilling life.
