My name is Alexandria Grim or Lexy for short. I am a Psychotherapist Practitioner at LeVan Counseling and Consulting Services. I have a B.A. in African American Studies with emphasis in Psychosocial Behavior and a minor in Sociology with emphasis in Law, Criminology and Deviance from the University of Mn. I also have a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Forensic Counseling from Walden University.
My counseling style is hinged upon eclecticism. Specifically ,my approach blends a delicate balance between intuition and a spiritual lens with influences of Adlerian therapy, DBT, CBT, TF-CBT, EFT, Feminism and Afrocentrism. I have experience working with children as young as four and up as well as adults of all ages. I also have experience in individual, family, couples and group counseling. I work with a myriad of disorders and discomforts including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, trauma, emotional-behavioral issues, mild spiritual issues, relational conflict/distress, etc.
My philosophy to counseling is meeting the client where they are in life and using whatever tools is necessary for the client in that moment. Therefore, I utilize an individualized approach specific to the needs of the client. I meet my clients with authenticity, genuineness, compassion, and non-judgmentalness. It is my duty to provide you, the client, a safe environment where you can face and confront your pain and it is an honor to be chosen to take that journey with you.
